When the pack is opened, the tray and barrier film automatically separate. The tray, made from renewable raw materials, is disposed of with waste paper, while the thin barrier film goes into the recycling bin. Both materials are mono-materials and can be recycled as pure, separated materials — without any pre-sorting by the consumer.
Kallfass-Wrap® — The sustainable fresh pack for the fresh food counter
For perishable foods such as meat, fish, and sausage products, as well as peeled or ready-to-cook vegetables and salads, shelf life can be extended while maintaining high quality through a protective atmosphere. In so-called Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), a protective gas is added to the gas-tight packaging.
Packaging products for the fresh food counter combines hygiene, freshness, an appealing appearance, and flexibility.
Packaging machines for the fresh food counter must package various fresh products quickly and hygienically, enable appealing product presentation, and be easy to operate. Kallfass develops packaging machines specifically designed for exactly this requirement profile at the point of sale.

Which packaging machine for your product?
Together we'll find the right solution!
Your product is unique. So are your packaging requirements. Our standard for film packaging is always the same:
"A pack has to be perfect!"
We act according to this principle. To ensure the packaging result is right in the end, a wide range of factors must be considered in advance. When choosing a suitable packaging machine, several machine types are generally possible candidates. But there is only one machine that, taking all factors into account, achieves the optimal packaging result. Together with you, we want to find exactly that Kallfass system.

Freshness and product presentation at the service counter
At the fresh food counter, first impressions matter. Freshly sliced sausage, cheese, and delicatessen items must not only be packaged hygienically but also presented in a visually appealing way. Transparent films give the customer a direct view of the product — freshness and quality are communicated visibly.
At the same time, the packaging must protect the product without compromising its fresh appearance. Clean seals, smooth film surfaces, and an even overall look are not just aesthetically relevant at the point of sale — they signal quality and care directly at the point of purchase.

FAQs on Kallfass-Wrap®
What does the name Kallfass-Wrap® mean, and what does the abbreviation WRAP stand for?
WRAP stands for Waste Reduction Alternative Package. The name describes the product's core principle: maximum protection for fresh food with drastically reduced plastic use compared to conventional fresh food packaging.
What foods and applications is Kallfass-Wrap® suitable for?
Kallfass-Wrap® was specifically developed for perishable foods at the fresh food counter — meat, fish, cheese, seafood, prepared meals, and similar products that require reliable barrier protection and, optionally, a protective gas atmosphere.
How does recycling work with Kallfass-Wrap®?
How much plastic does Kallfass-Wrap® save compared to conventional packaging?
The plastic content of fresh food packaging can be reduced by up to 90% with Kallfass-Wrap®. This is made possible by using a tray made from renewable raw materials instead of a plastic tray, as well as a very thin barrier film with a thickness of just 20µ or 30µ instead of a multi-layer composite film.
