Dual-Side Sealers
The fully automatic dual-side sealing machines for full wrap
The principle behind fully automatic dual-side sealing machines is based on the use of two rolls of flat film, which are used to create distortion-free, shapely, and tightly fitted film pouches. When using this packaging technology, shrinking can in certain cases be dispensed with entirely. This packaging principle ensures effective and efficient shipping and returns management not only in the shipping and logistics industry, but in many other sectors as well.

ADVANTAGES
- High packaging output through continuous packaging without stop-and-go
- Distortion-free, exactly rectangular film pouch
- Traveling cross-sealing system
- Easy to operate and largely maintenance-free
Dual-side sealing machines are fully automatic packaging machines that wrap products on all sides in a film pouch using two rolls of flat film.
The key difference from other film wrapping machines lies in the two-sided film transport: both film layers are guided simultaneously and sealed on two sides — the result is a distortion-free, exactly rectangular film pouch with stable, load-bearing side seams.
Another advantage of this packaging principle: in many applications, shrinking can be dispensed with entirely, which saves energy and shortens the packaging process. This technology has proven to be a reliable solution for efficient shipping and returns management, particularly in logistics, e-commerce, and mail order retail.
Packaging examples
Intermittent-motion dual-side sealing machines: Servo Packer T
The intermittent-motion models cover a wide range of requirements. The Servo Packer 500 T reaches up to 85 cycles per minute. The Servo Packer 1000 T also packages large-format products at up to 60 cycles per minute. Both machines handle randomly infed products reliably and without manual intervention.
Continuous-motion dual-side sealing machines: Servo Packer
The continuously operating Servo Packer models work without stop-and-go, achieving significantly higher packaging output as a result. The Servo Packer 500 reaches up to 120 cycles per minute, while the Servo Packer 500 C increases performance further to up to 160 cycles per minute.
For wider formats up to 850 mm, the Servo Packer 800 takes over with up to 80 cycles per minute. The traveling cross-sealing system ensures clean, even seals even at high speed. Particularly tight packaging is possible with all Servo Packer models — even without downstream shrinking, which makes the system flexible and energy-efficient.
Stable packaging for demanding logistics processes
What sets Kallfass dual-side sealing machines apart in practice is the combination of process reliability and packaging quality. The stable side seams reliably withstand transport stresses.
All systems are designed for low maintenance and achieve availability of over 98.5% in multi-shift operation — a basic requirement for smooth operation in logistics centers and shipping facilities.

FAQs on dual-side sealers
What is the difference between a dual-side sealing machine and a conventional side sealing machine?
The side sealing machine uses half-fold film to package the product. After the packaging process, the pack has 3 seals. The dual-side sealing machine uses two rolls of flat film and packages products into a geometrically exact, rectangular, distortion-free film pouch with 4 seals.
When can shrinking be dispensed with?
For products with a uniform shape — such as books, catalogs, or flat mail-order goods — the film pouch from the dual-side sealing machine already fits tightly and holds its shape on the product without shrinking. A downstream shrink tunnel is not required in these cases, which saves energy.
Which industries are dual-side sealing machines suitable for?
The main focus is on logistics, e-commerce, and mail order retail, where efficient shipping and returns management is required. In addition, the machines are used in the printing industry, the book trade, and everywhere products of different sizes need to be packaged quickly, reliably, and in a tightly fitted film pouch.
