The intermittent-motion models of the Universa series cover a wide range of product sizes and throughput requirements thanks to their versatile use. With packaging outputs of up to 85 cycles per minute, the systems reliably package goods of the most varied dimensions in full film wrap.
The continuously heated sealing bar with replaceable sealing strip ensures consistently clean seals and can be quickly changed if needed. Standardized interfaces significantly simplify integration into existing packaging lines. Cam-driven product positioning ensures precise placement without complex manual intervention.
Continuous-motion side sealing machines: the Universa Servo series
Where maximum throughput is required, the continuous-motion servo models operate without stop-and-go — significantly increasing packaging output compared to intermittent-motion systems. The Universa 500 Servo reaches up to 120 cycles per minute, while the Universa 500 Servo C achieves up to 160 cycles per minute, making it one of the fastest systems in its class.
Random infeed of products of varying lengths is also possible without any issues. For food companies that package under a protective atmosphere, the Universa 500 Servo MAP is available — a version specifically designed for Modified Atmosphere Packaging technology, which extends the shelf life of fresh products. Larger formats are handled by the Universa 800 Servo and the Universa 1000 Servo.

What is the difference between intermittent-motion and continuous-motion side sealing machines?
Intermittent-motion machines briefly stop for the cross-sealing process before the next product enters. Continuous-motion servo systems operate without interruption, enabling significantly higher packaging output. Depending on the required throughput and product type, one version or the other is the more economical choice.
What does MAP packaging mean and for which industries is it relevant?
MAP stands for Modified Atmosphere Packaging — packaging under a protective gas atmosphere. In this process, the air inside the film pouch is replaced with a gas mixture that inhibits the growth of microorganisms and extends shelf life. The technology is particularly common in the food industry, for example with meat, cheese, or fresh baked goods.
Can the machines be integrated into existing packaging lines?
Yes. All Universa models feature standardized interfaces that enable straightforward integration into upstream and downstream processes.
What product sizes can be packaged?
