For efficient shipping and returns management

Whether it's labeled shipping packaging in opaque film or repackaging returns in transparent film, Kallfass packaging machines set new standards in performance and reliability. The sophisticated, fully automatic film packaging process significantly reduces the heavy manual workload at packing stations. This relieves the burden on staff in fulfillment centers. Randomly arriving products and goods are packaged in a custom-fitted film pouch tailored to the item, with stable, load-bearing seals on three sides.

For opaque or transparent film

Whether it's labeled shipping packaging (outbound logistics) in opaque film or paper, or repackaging returns (inbound logistics) in transparent film, Kallfass packaging machines are developed and designed for exactly that.

Online retail places high demands on packaging machines: changing product sizes, high throughput, minimal setup effort — and packaging quality that survives the shipping journey unscathed. To meet these requirements, Kallfass offers a broad portfolio of fully automatic packaging machines specifically designed for the needs of e-commerce, mail order retail, and logistics centers. In addition, Kallfass also offers semi-automatic systems for lower shipping and returns volumes.
Both fully automatic and semi-automatic systems have one thing in common — they reliably package products in the desired packaging material.

Outbound logistics – shipping preparation with a system

Speed is critical in outbound operations. Picked goods must be packaged quickly, securely, and transport-safely, and prepared for shipping. Any delay in the packaging process directly impacts delivery times and customer satisfaction.

Kallfass machines are designed for high throughput and stable processes. Film wrapping, shrink film, and bundling reliably prepare goods for different transport routes.

Inbound logistics – packaging for returns

With returns, packaging determines protection, identification, and smooth storage. Goods sent back by customers must be quickly registered, inspected, and safely stored. Damage caused by improper packaging leads to extra effort, costs, and delays throughout the supply chain.
Film wrapping machines package and secure goods on arrival and prepare them for storage. Shrink film protects against dirt and mechanical stress, while bundling creates organized units that can be stored efficiently. Automated processes reduce manual intervention and noticeably speed up goods receiving.

FAQs on e-commerce applications

What products can be packaged?

Products in e-commerce and mail order retail come from a wide variety of industries and are limited only by the size and weight restrictions of the shipping carrier. Kallfass systems reliably package small to large products and prepare them for shipping.

Fully automatic or semi-automatic packaging machine — which is right for me?

This depends on the number of products to be packaged. For higher shipping volumes, a fully automatic system is preferable.

Can the machines be integrated into existing lines?

All systems feature standardized interfaces and can be easily integrated into upstream and downstream processes.

Do I need a shrink tunnel to produce shipping packaging?

No, generally not. Products packaged for mail order retail are often not shrunk. Depending on the customer's requirements, a shrink tunnel can be omitted.

What films and paper can be processed on Kallfass systems?

Almost all commercially available packaging films can be processed on Kallfass systems. Additional special films, such as barrier films for creating a protective atmosphere in MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) applications, are also processed reliably. Sealable papers can also be run on the systems, with the major advantage that the paper can be kept within the "waste paper" recycling loop.
