Hygiene and protection requirements in mask packaging

Medical masks — whether surgical masks or FFP2 and FFP3 protective masks — are subject, as medical devices, to defined requirements for packaging and labeling. The packaging must ensure protection against contamination. Individual packaging protects the mask until it is removed. For larger packaging units, an additional film wrap provides hygiene protection and transport stability. The packaging machine must reliably handle both packaging stages.
