We package it — safely and professionally.
Whether paints, coatings, cleaning agents, or other chemical products in cans, bottles, canisters, cartons, tubes, or other containers — we package them to your complete satisfaction. The products can be packaged individually, or combined into a unit, either in full wrap or as a banderole.
Paints, coatings, and chemical products are packaged in containers — in a wide variety of product sizes.
Packaging these containers presents different requirements than classic unit-load packaging: GHS hazardous substance labeling must remain legible or be selectively covered, films must keep out liquids and moisture ingress, and the machines themselves operate in an environment where residual solvents and condensation are part of everyday routine.

Requirements for packaging paints and chemicals
The range of containers in the paint and coatings industry spans from round metal cans to rectangular plastic buckets to canisters. Each format brings different dimensions — and packaging machines must be able to handle this range without extensive retooling. Seasonality adds another factor: facade paints, wood preservatives, and industrial coatings run in waves. During peak periods, every minute of machine availability counts.
Packaging films for chemical containers serve several functions at once: they protect against moisture ingress during storage and transport, prevent surface contamination, and protect labels from mechanical damage. With transparent films, GHS pictograms and product designations remain visible — a point that can be relevant for hazardous goods transport under ADR regulations.
Which packaging machine for your product?
Together we'll find the right solution!
Your product is unique. So are your packaging requirements. Our standard for film packaging is always the same:
"A pack has to be perfect!"
We act according to this principle. To ensure the packaging result is right in the end, a wide range of factors must be considered in advance. When choosing a suitable packaging machine, several machine types are generally possible candidates. But there is only one machine that, taking all factors into account, achieves the optimal packaging result. Together with you, we want to find exactly that Kallfass system.

Packaging principles for a wide range of applications
Film banderoles and full wrap are suitable for bundling several containers — for example, into 4- or 6-packs.
With a banderole, containers are packaged so that the sides remain open and are then form-fitted together in the shrink tunnel. Containers can also be fully sealed all around using full film wrap. This is handled by our side sealing machines and L-sealing machines, which reliably package a wide variety of product shapes and formats in full wrap.
As an experienced manufacturer of packaging machines, Kallfass offers shrink tunnels with ring nozzle and register heating systems for these applications — both systems operate very energy-efficiently and produce even shrink results, even with varying container heights within a single production run.

Efficiency and process reliability in the chemical industry
Automatic packaging systems take over products directly from the filling line and hand off packaged units to the palletizer. This continuous process ensures efficiency and productivity — without manual intervention. Industrial packaging solutions for the chemical and paint industries must be customer-specifically tailored to guarantee the safety of systems and personnel. Kallfass systems ensure fast format changeovers between different container sizes, along with efficient and process-reliable operation.

FAQ
Must GHS pictograms remain visible on packaged chemicals?
This depends on the purpose of the packaging. For transport packaging under ADR regulations, specific labeling requirements apply — hazardous goods labels must be visible or affixed to the outer packaging. Transparent shrink films allow labels to show through; alternatively, labeling can be applied to the outer film.
Which films are suitable for chemical containers?
Polyethylene film is mainly used for paint and coating containers. It is chemical-resistant, tear-resistant, and can be reliably processed on side sealing machines, banderoling machines, and L-sealing machines.
How complex is the format changeover between different container sizes?
Modern Kallfass packaging machines are designed for fast format changeovers. Saved product programs can be accessed via the Easy Touch HMI; mechanical adjustments to width and height stops are tool-free or require only a few simple steps. This reduces setup times, even with frequently changing container formats.
Can packaging machines be directly integrated into filling lines?
Yes. Kallfass systems are designed for seamless integration into existing production lines. Interfaces to filling machines, labeling machines, and palletizers are coordinated on a project-specific basis.
Are film wrapping machines also suitable for hazardous goods containers?
Film wrapping machines package the outer container — the hazardous goods classification and approval of the inner container (can, canister) remain unaffected by this. The film packaging serves to protect during transport and storage. Whether and how the outer packaging must be labeled depends on the applicable hazardous goods regulations (ADR, IMDG, IATA).
