New hall put into operation ahead of time

Move of production before final completion date

After a short construction period of just 259 days, before the actual completion, it was necessary to integrate the expansion of the hall in ongoing operations. "We are happy that we were able to move our production onto the unfinished floor. The high order level for packaging lines made this necessary, but we are glad to deal with the complications of the early move," explains Jens Kallfass, Managing Director of the German packaging specialists. The extension to the existing production hall and the associated expansion of production area to some 2,000 m² became imperative to ensure a sufficient production area for peak workloads. "Our employees are very happy that the tight space constraints in the production area are finally a thing of the past," continues Jens Kallfass.

But this expansion was not just about a larger area for production. From the start, the quickly expanding international customer visits were taken into account and a separate area was created for this purpose. "Visitors that arrive for a consultation or product testing after a long journey by plane, car or train can freshen up and relax in the lounge area, while always keeping the production in view through a large window," explains Tino Kraut, Technical Manager. "The workplaces were also designed with modern communication equipment to allow for contact with the business world for multi-day visits," adds Kraut.

"We are already contemplating another expansion of the production area. Spaces are already available for this purpose," Jens Kallfass continues. "We are also considering continuing the energy efficiency renovation of the corporate office, which started with the renovation of the roof in 2011, in a coming phase of construction. What has long been a matter of course for our packaging machines - the responsible use of natural resources - should also apply for our building."
